Is Blipcall free?
Yes. Creating links and receiving calls is free.
Do callers need to install anything?
No. Callers tap your link and call from their browser. It rings on your side, and you choose whether to pick up.
Is it really private?
Calls are end-to-end encrypted and never recorded. There are no accounts and no phone numbers, and a link stops working when it expires or you delete it. Like any internet call, each device learns the other's IP address, which can hint at a general area and internet provider — but never your phone number.
Can a call connect before I pick up?
No. Every call rings first, and your microphone stays off until you tap Accept. Decline, or let it ring for 30 seconds, and the caller is told you couldn't pick up.
How is a private call link different from a second number?
Second-number apps still need a signup and a real phone number underneath. Blipcall gives you a private call link with a purpose and an expiry — there's no number at all.
What does the caller see?
The link's purpose, its name if you set one, how long it has left, and whether it's paused or busy — never your phone number.
What if someone misuses my link?
Delete it and it stops working at once, even if it's printed as a QR. Anyone who receives an abusive link can report it, or email abuse@blipcall.com.
What is the security code?
During a call, both screens show the same 5 emojis. Read them to each other: if they all match, nobody is in the middle of your call. It doesn't prove who the other person is.
Good to know
- Blipcall receives calls only, over the internet. It can't call emergency numbers — use your phone in an emergency.
- On the web, calls ring only while your link's page is open on screen. If you lock your phone or switch apps, you can miss calls.
- You must be 18 or older to create a link.
